Twilight Dinner
Support St. John’s with tickets to Twilight Dinner. $60 includes a cocktail and mocktail party in the garden under the stars (weather permitting), a multi-course dinner and dessert. Tours of the Rectory will be available as well as some fun ways to offer your financial support of St. John’s. Please see Rev. Meghan if cost is an issue. Free childcare and pizza will be provided for the kids. Get your tickets using QR code found around the church.

St. Francis Day Pet Blessings
Bring your pets to church! Weather permitting, we’ll gather for worship in the garden for both 8 am and 10 am services and thank God for all the gifts of creation, including our pets! Please be sure to bring whatever you need to clean up after your pet. If you prefer to leave your pet at home, Rev. Meghan will bless a photo.

Formation Sunday
This fall, Rev. Meghan will lead monthly formation for adults following the 10 am service. Sunday, Sept. 21, we will look at some of the features that identify us as Episcopalians. Come prepared to discuss what most attracts you to practicing your faith in an Episcopal Church.

First Day of Sunday School
St. John’s has two Sunday School classes this year: K-3rd (in the Vestry Room) and 4th-7th (in the Choir Room). Class begins at 9:45 am (a change from last year). If you have a Sunday School aged child, please see the Sunday School Coordinator, Melissa Kanter, for a registration form. The children return to the Sanctuary for Holy Communion.

Stock the Shelves Sunday
Every second Sunday, we bless an offering of food that helps to stock the shelves of our free fridge and pantry, currently housed at the back of the church. Neighbors experiencing food insecurity have 24-hour access to the fridge and pantry, no questions asked. Donations are needed all week long, and this month the most requested items include milk (dairy, nondairy, evaporated or powdered), yogurt, cheese, protein shake packs, deli or cured meats, canned chicken, tuna, fish, beans, and raw meats (date and place in the freezer).

Family Fun Fair
St. John’s Episcopal Church invites Old Irving Park residents to a back-to-school Family Fun Fair on Sunday, August 24, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The event includes outdoor games with prizes, a Cake Walk, 50/50 Raffle, and hot dogs, chips and desserts for sale to support the church’s Immigrant Support Team. For more information, contact an Immigrant Support team member.
