Upcoming Events
Easter Sunday
A family-friendly and festive celebration of Holy Communion with choir and children leading our worship.
Easter Sunday
A simple, spoken service of Holy Communion and celebration of the Resurrection
Easter Vigil
This service begins in the Memorial Garden where we light the paschal fire, recall our beloved dead, and process into the church with the Light of Christ (the paschal candle). We tell the story of God’s saving work from the time of creation to the death and resurrection of Jesus. We renew our baptismal vows and sound the Great Noise with the first proclamation of Easter!
If you've never experienced an Easter Vigil, this is the one to make your first! It's about 90 minutes and full of the sensory elements that makes Episcopal liturgy so beautiful.
Stations of the Cross
Weather permitting, we walk the Stations outside, following the same route we walked on Palm Sunday.
Maundy Thursday
We remember Jesus’ last meal with his friends and how he washed their feet.
For those who want to participate, we wash each other's feet, following Jesus' instructions to humbly care for one another at this service. We celebrate Holy Communion and end the service by removing everything from the altar. It stays bare until Easter.
Film Screening of "White with Fear"
The Antiracism Team invites the St John’s community and general public to a screening of White with Fear on Tuesday, February 24 at 7 pm in the Parish Hall. White with Fear is an explosive deep dive into the decades-long quest by America’s conservative political machine to amass power by exploiting the racial fault lines and stoking narratives of White victimization. The documentary film runs approximately 90 minutes and will be followed by a guided discussion, and light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by Friday, February 20. For more information, please email St. John's Antiracism Team.

Formation Sunday: Instructed Eucharist
In November, we invite anyone who has ever wanted to learn more about tradition of celebrating the Eucharist (Holy Communion) to join us at our 10 am service for an all-ages “Instructed Eucharist.” Rev. Meghan will walk and talk us through the service while we are celebrating it. Discussion follows after you get your treats at coffee hour!

Join us for and evening of candle-lit prayer, song and chanting in honor of the Feast of All Souls, when we remember with love and thanksgiving those who have gone before us.
Formation Sunday
This fall, Rev. Meghan or a guest speaker will lead monthly formation for adults as we will look at some of the features that identify us as Episcopalians. Given the proximity to Halloween, Formation Sunday for October will include a conversation about Hell, specifically what tradition and scripture have to say about it. Bring your preconceived notions and an open mind! Follows the 10 am service.

Please excuse our mess!
St. John’s exterior waterproofing project is scheduled to begin October 13 and last two weeks. Our church grounds may fill with equipment and displaced soil so the garden may be temporarily closed off at times.
During this project, St. John’s is open for all usual worship services, events, community meetings and music lessons. If the Byron Street doors are blocked, the front doors of the church will be accessible.
The Free Fridge and Pantry will be temporarily relocated to an area in front of the garage during work and is planned to move back to the fenced in area (though not its original location) once the work is complete.
