There is no application form. Just write your artist's statement and send 5 pictures of your work to Brad Gehrig (his email is on the website). Thanks for your interest!

To whom this may concern:

I am a student at Roosevelt University in Chicago (history major, secondary education minor) and am including Marthe Cohen's story in a lesson plan I am creating of Survivors of the Holocaust. I randonmly pulled up the St. John's article regarding Marthe and was surprised to see that she spoke at St. John's here in Chicago. Does she come back often? I read her book a couple of years ago and found it a moving and incredible autobiography. Would Marthe ever consider talking to students? I will be student teaching next Spring 2012 in Chicago and would really love if she could speak in my classroom and even at a school assembly. I am hoping to be student teaching at a local high school in my neighborhood - Uplift Community High School in Uptown, Chicago.

In addition I would love to meet her if she will be talking again soon at St. John's or at any local event.

Finally, I would likd to ask a favor of Marthe's daughter-in-law Barb and son Stephan if they would be willing to e-mail a few pictures to me of Marthe for including in my lesson plan of Marthe in the war, family and current. I would definitely share the lesson plan with Barb and Stephan after it's completion.

Thank you very much in advance for any help and advice you can provide.

Best regards,
